King’s Pointe Review and Giveaway

by Katie on July 22, 2014

Kings Pointe poolFor the 3rd year in a row we packed up the car and drove North to spend the weekend at King’s Pointe Resort in Storm Lake. We left Charlie with Nana and Papa and took off for a special weekend with Drake. Drake remembered our trip well from last year and had our itinerary all planned out for us before we even left.

We got to Storm Lake around lunchtime and checked into the Resort. We stayed in a double queen suite on the third floor. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the lake. It was truly beautiful! We grabbed a quick lunch in town and then were ready to hit the pool. Drake just learned how to swim last winter so he spent almost all of his time swimming around the kids pool and going down the kids water slides. He is my cautious boy so we could not convince him to go down the big water slides, but Ben sure enjoyed his slide time. We also loved floating around and around the lazy river as a family just relaxing and talking and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Despite the warm sun and comfortable temperatures we ventured inside to check out the indoor water park. Drake loved playing on the big kids water feature. We did not spend much time inside as it was way too nice outside, but what an awesome option if it happens to be rainy and cool or for a little escape during the freezing cold winter!

After getting our fill of swim time we decide to check out the new mini golf course. Pirate’s Pointe is an 18 hole mini golf course that has a pirate theme. Ben and I loved mini golfing and Drake loved checking out and posing with all the pirates. This is a great addition to the resort!

We ate dinner at the onsite Regatta grill. We filled up on cheese sticks, pasta, pizza, and enjoyed a couple beverages while relaxing in the beautiful restaurant that overlooks the lake. After dinner we went on a walk around the lake and topped the night off with some frozen yogurt from a cute little place right across the street.

The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Regatta grill before we packed up and headed home. Overall, we had a great experience and left feeling refreshed and happy. Drake is already asking when we can go back again.! Thanks for inviting us King’s Pointe!
